Welcome!
We dreamed of one day farming full time, but being first generation farmers, we weren't sure if that dream would ever become reality. We continued to pray for an opportunity, work towards our goal, and wait on an answer from the Lord. We had been eyeing our farm for a while before purchasing it from dear friends in 2016. The first several years were whirlwind years, jumping in feet first to this adventure, but we stepped out in faith believing Psalm 37 and Matthew 6. God has been so kind and so faithful to us, blessing us with a deeper faith than we had before we began.
We raise Yorkshire and Landrace cross sows and the pigs are sired by Durocs. The majority of our pigs are sold through a niche market as weaned pigs and are finished in Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota. We do keep some to feed out here on our farm to be processed and sold locally. They are fed grain that is grown in Missouri and sold to a local mill, who then delivers it to us.
Nearly 15 years have passed since we were naïve college kids who wanted a chance to farm, and admittedly there have been times when we wondered why we wanted this in the first place, but today we realize we truly are living our dream. Our contribution to the agriculture industry may be a small one, but we are grateful to live and work on this farm along with our kids.
